In in vivo testing the average SPF was 73.5 — well above the minimum of 60 required for the SPF50+ category. Under EU labelling rules such a result is marked SPF50+: it is the outcome of testing, not a marketing name.

A high SPF is not the whole story. SPF describes protection against UVB rays, which cause sunburn, while UVA rays, linked to pigmentation and photoaging, reach the skin every day. The fluid's UVA protection factor is 36.23, and the balance of its UVA/UVB protection received the maximum 5-star Boots rating. The formula combines five complementary UV filters: some target UVB, others UVA, and a broad-spectrum filter supports both.

The texture is a light milky fluid rather than a thick cream: it spreads easily and does not make the skin feel heavy, so SPF becomes a simple step of your daily routine instead of a chore. It also works as a moisturising base under make-up and gives the skin a natural, well-cared-for glow.

How to use and what to keep in mind

Use

  1. 01WhenEvery morning as the last step of your skincare. Apply to clean skin of the face and neck 15–20 minutes before going out in the sun.
  2. 02WhereThe face first. If needed, also the neck, décolleté, hands, forearms, shins and legs.
  3. 03How muchFor the face and neck, use the two-finger rule. Too little product noticeably reduces protection.
  4. 04HowDo not mix with serum, cream or foundation — apply in separate layers and let each one absorb.
  5. 05Under make-upWait about 10 minutes after applying SPF for the protective layer to form, then apply foundation with light patting movements.
  6. 06ReapplyEvery 2–4 hours when you are outdoors in direct sun, and after swimming, heavy sweating, towel-drying, cleansing or rubbing the skin.
  7. 07Reapply over make-upPat the fluid over the whole face with a clean sponge. Or blot excess sebum with a tissue and apply the fluid in small amounts with your fingertips, building up a new protective layer.

Precautions

  • No sunscreen gives 100% protection — avoid staying in direct sun for too long.
  • Also wear a hat, sunglasses and clothing that covers the skin.
  • Using enough product and reapplying it regularly matter as much as the SPF number.
  • Use SPF every day, all year round — not only in summer.

By skin type

Oily and combination skin
  1. A light water-based serum — let it absorb.
  2. Finish with the 3S SPF50+ fluid.
  3. Propanediol and light emollients moisturise, so the fluid often replaces a day cream.
  4. Distarch phosphate reduces the feeling of oiliness.
  5. During the day, blot excess sebum with a mattifying tissue.
Dry skin
  1. A moisturising serum.
  2. Let it absorb, then apply your usual face cream.
  3. Gently blot excess cream with a tissue without rubbing.
  4. The SPF50+ fluid goes on as the last layer, with soft patting movements.
